BLUE HOUR
MA Narrative Environments Showcase 2024
Exhibitions | Graphics and Branding | Event Planning | Visual Systems
In this production, my main role was leading the graphics team to determine a brand identity for the MA Narrative Environment Class of 2024 showcase.
This also included the creation and delivery of all graphic elements used throughout the showcase, including everything from the leaflets to social media posts. I also assisted the Build Team with installation.

The overall approach we took touched upon themes of time, space and storytelling, all integral for representing the programme and the production. We were inspired by the ‘Blue Hour’, a time when the sun is on the precipice of rising. The world is caught in a liminal space between night and day, when stories come to an end while beginning again.
How to create a unifying theme and visual system for a curated exhibition, that supports the work showcased and adds to overall experience
Concept and Theme
The Sundial and blue hour
Inspired by the notion of time and space, the visual imagery took heavy influence from sundials and clocks. The colour palette was drawn from the colours of the sky during blue hour.

Socials, Events, Posters and the Dome
Main part of my responsibility included leading the graphics and branding team, producing graphic asset packs and other physical/ digital/ motion graphic material required for the week long chain of events.Inspired by the site of the showcase - a geodesic dome, we opted to use this font by Benedetta Bovani. The ‘O’ invoking the structure of the dome in aerial view, which was the site of the showcase.

My team of three also designed and printed the handouts for the showcase, using single colour Riso print on recycled paper.
