End of Year Show 2020
Project Brief
The End of Year show is a chance for final year students to display their final year projects. It takes place on the Tuke Lawn in Regent’s University London. The aim is to design and create tailored display structures for individual Year 3 students. An additional requirement is the use of IKEA LERBERG trestles and projectors in the design. This is a group project so after individual idea generation we worked as a group to combine ideas, test through models and prototypes made in various scales, and hold discussions to create the final exhibition structures.

Individual Idea Generation
Although this is a group project, we each generated a design idea for the exhibition structure so we could pool ideas and test and develop various prototypes together.
My idea was based on the modularity of the components of structure so that it could be re-arranged to suit the needs of each individual Level 6 student. This ensured that the structure could be tailored to the project of each student.

Testing Materials and Joints
One of my responsibilities in the group was to generate ideas and create prototypes of 1:1 scale joints to be used for the final design idea. I was exploring ways to strengthen the structure, re-using material available in our workshop, minimizing expense, and using methods that would ensure easy assembly and disassembly on site.

All drawings have been produced individually by me after careful group discussion and decisions.
Visuals
Another responsibility of mine was to create visuals based on the 1:5 scale group model we made together.
These visuals represent how our design proposal would look like in the marquee that will be set up for the End of Year Show.
These became increasingly important as the show, originally supposed to be in May 2020 has been postponed due to Covid-19. Creating these visuals and an FF&E document was necessary so that this show could be assembled at a later date without last-minute hassle.
